This website will, hopefully, serve as a useful overall view on literary postmodernism, within which I shall be specifically focusing on emerging literary styles. I have chosen to analyse John Barth's 'Lost in the Funhouse' as an example of changing narrative styles in its most explicit form. Because I will be focusing on narrative styles in the postmodern era, the theoretical approaches I have showcased precisely focus on ways of approaching the often challenging literary styles that emerged within the 1960's.
I will conclude my discussion of postmodernism with an in-depth critical analysis of John Barth's short story, 'Lost in the Funhouse', looking at how the theoretical approaches I have discussed will aid a more successful reading of Barth's highly acclaimed story.
